Austin voters passed Proposition A with 85% support in May 2022, ending arrests and citations for low-level marijuana possession and banning no-knock warrants. It was our first campaign.

Proposition A was the first campaign Ground Game Texas ran, and it set the pattern for everything since: take an issue people already agree on, put it directly in front of voters, and organise until it passes.
On 7 May 2022, Austin voters approved it with 85% in favour — one of the widest margins any local measure in Texas has seen.
What Proposition A does
Ends low-level marijuana arrests
Austin police may not cite or arrest for misdemeanor marijuana possession, except in high-priority narcotics or violent felony investigations.
Bans no-knock warrants
Officers must knock and announce themselves before executing a search warrant.
Passed by direct democracy
Over 30,000 signatures put it on the ballot, and 85% of voters approved it.
