Edinburg $15 Living Wage

Ground Game Texas organized Edinburg residents around a $15 living wage for city workers. When the city initially rejected the petition because some petition circulators did not live in Edinburg, Ground Game Texas challenged that restriction in federal court and prevailed. Organizing continued until the city accepted the petition and moved forward with a living-wage commitment. The campaign combined worker organizing, direct democracy, and litigation to defend residents' ability to petition their local government.
