Ground Game Texas worked with Sunrise El Paso and local partners to organize one of Texas's most ambitious municipal climate ballot campaigns. Nearly 39,000 petition signatures helped place the El Paso Climate Charter on the May 2023 ballot. Proposition K proposed a comprehensive city climate policy focused on renewable energy, climate planning, water and environmental protection, sustainable jobs, and reducing municipal greenhouse-gas emissions. Voters ultimately rejected the measure, with approximately 18% voting for it and 82% against.
